At Food Concepts our entire approach to business is people centric. We know that our success depends not only on what our customers think of us, but on how our well equipped our staff are to deliver on, and more importantly, believe in our vision of extraordinary satisfaction for all.
We know that our accelerated expansion plans cannot be successful without a strong training and staff development strategy. Our key approach is building a team based on a collaborative work ethic that enhances productivity by nurturing individual development.
Food Concept established a Training Academy in the Head Office in 2006. The training programmes have since been in line with International Standards. In 2007, we had over 300 staff trained from our company owned, joint ventures and franchise stores. The courses taken in the Academy are centered on the expected competency areas of our people including:
| |
Operations Effectiveness |
| |
Business Profitability |
| |
Environmental Factors |
| |
Industry Analysis |
| |
Strategic Planning |
| |
Individual and Group Development |
In 2008, we intend to enhance these core competencies and then complement it with our Performance Measurement Systems. The key objective of this approach is to constantly evaluate the competencies of our staff in line with their knowledge quotient so that we can easily identify the gaps that exist. This enables us to implement training programmes that refresh, update and improve the skills of our people on an ongoing basis. Some of the courses provided in our Training Academy include:
| |
Operations Effectiveness |
| |
Health, Hygiene and Food Safety |
| |
Stock and Inventory Management |
| |
Short Interval Control Systems |
| |

| |

| |

Our training system is not only limited to a classroom atmosphere, but also includes practical (hands on) training to ensure high quality skills and knowledge transfers.
Consistent toplevel knowledge transfers are also exploited through workshops, seminars, retreats and other forms of corporate interactions. Moreover, we arrange regular team building and motivational events aimed at inspiring and motivating our extraordinary team. |
