St Elmo's was incorporated in South Africa in 1987 as a fast food pizza restaurant and takeaway outlet, aimed at middle to high income earners within a society, who have an appetite for western-style fast-foods. Food Concepts launched the St Elmo's brand in Nigeria in 2001, and currently runs 4 St Elmo's stores located in affluent areas of Lagos and Benin, close to its target market.
