Food Concepts: Exploring Fresh Concepts In Outdoor Catering

Food Concepts and Entertainment Ltd.(FCEL), a leading QSR operator commenced operations in 2001. food concepts currently manages a number of leading QSR brands such as Chicken Republic, St Elmo's Pizza, Butterfield Bread, Reeds Thai Restaurant, Pie Express, and Scoops Ice-Cream. Since Inception, Food Concepts has opened over 28 stores in both multiple food courts and stand alone stores including 8 franchise stores across Nigeria and recently a Chicken Republic Store in South Africa. The company would drive future growth in its brand, Chicken Republic, in Nigeria, Africa, Middle East and the UK.

Its bakery business currently produces 65,000 loaves a day, but there are plans to increase production to 500,000 loaves per day by 2009.

Food concepts intends to roll out 300 Chicken Republic Stores within the next 48 months, and have secured sites in major cities in Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa to the effect.

Food concepts has reached various levels of development in Senegal, Cote d' Ivoire, Gabon, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Kenya. The company believes that the African market is ready for 1000 Chicken Republic stores. It also recently signed a mandate with UBA to raise N10bn through a future flow securitization bond to finance its aggressive growth.

The company intends to raise additional equity in the first quarter of 2008 through a private placement and later list its shares on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Food Concepts has such selling points as strong brand association, corporate social responsibility and job creation.
